Western University CCGC Club Introduction
The Chinese Cultural Game Club is dedicated in promoting the Chinese Culture across the Western University and the London community. We try to do this by hosting fun and relaxing weekly gatherings, social activities, and entertainment events based on the common interest of gaming (Mostly Chinese card or board games), where we also hope that members can interact with each other and make new friends.
The club has close to 500 official members currently, and an additional 250 different contacts among our various medias, many of which would occasionally join our events. Now we have achieved our last year's goal, which is being the largest club in Western main campus. Our projection for next year is that we will try our best to set up more complete weekly events to make ever member enjoy our Chinese traditional game.
Some notable accomplishments by our club include the last year’s Three Kingdom Kill contest, which was supported by the official Toronto Three Kingdom Kill Association, and this year’s downtown Halloween Party, where more than 400 of our members attended. Also, we successfully held a singing competition on campus, which triggered many positive feedbacks. At the end of 2014, we held our largest club event: Chinese Spring Festival New Year Gala. The New Year Gala was held in London Centennial Hall, which attracted more than 500 people including western students as well as some influential London Chinese media and organizations.
Local Newspaper Red Maples and one of the most effective London Chinese organizations CCNC were successfully invited to the event. In the 2nd semester, we kept holding our weekly events while successfully organized the Valentines Day Party. All of these activities attracted huge number of potential members as well as local Chinese organizations, which gradually improved CCGC’s impact on Western campus as well as the London Chinese Community.
