How can I survive in U of T?
I am Karen Yu. I am currently studying Year 2 life science in University of Toronto, as an international student.
I am specializing in Pharmacology and Toxicology because this is what I am interested in and I want to get into Pharmacy School. I also have a minor in Statistic Science because knowledge in statistics provides you with the necessary tools in quantitative analysis to extract information intelligently from the sea of data.
As a life science student, I've developed my laboratory skills in the lab component of the first year and second year biology and chemistry courses. I am hardworking, reliable, and confident with my collaboration skills and teamwork experience as well as my laboratory and computer skills. Speaking of how to manage time on studying, I always complete the task on time and with quality. Furthermore, through my current tenure at International Cantonese Union, as a Finance Team Controller, I have obtained strong leadership and team-working skills by always working closely with the team members planning budget and preparing income statement for various social events.
While I study hard at school, I have 2 ways to relax myself, trying to escape from the busy working, which are volunteering and join club events. I always believe "Work hard, and then play hard".
